Your Session

I am an on location photographer. The location of your session is up to you though I can make recommendations if you are unsure of where you would like them done. If you have seen a location that I have done with a previous client that you like let me know and we can work there. I prefer to work outdoors if the weather cooperates and if not I have a portable studio we can work with. For outdoor portraits it's best to shoot in the evening 2 hours before sunset. The light is beautiful and provides a warmth to your pictures that I just love. Your session will take 1-2 hours.

For newborn and infant sessions we will discuss a time that works for you. I will take into account naps, feeding and your schedule. You will want to expect to set aside 2 hours of time as babies are unpredictable. They are also easiest to work with when they are most calm and sleepy.

What to wear?

Clothing is extremely important to successful portraits. Best advice would be to wear clothes that reflect who you are: fun, funky, preppy, conservative whatever. Jeans always work well, and don't be afraid of colors, patterns or layers. For family portraits pick a base color to work with and cooridinate everyone around that color. For example if your base color were brown then everyone would have brown on in the form of a scarf, jacket, hat, jewlery, shirt, pants, etc, then the rest of clothes would coordinate with that base color. You may bring more than one outfit to your session, as outfit changes are allowed (and encouraged!) especially for seniors.

Newborns and babies are best photographed in their birthday suits. However if you have a favorite outfit bring that along. Also if you have a cute hat, bow, bracelet, blanket or stuffed animal bring it along as these items help provide the finishing touch. If you want to be in the photograph with the newborn I recommend that you wear black.
